This spectacular bird of prey is often seen hunting along the cliffs of the Jurassic coastline in Dorset and further inland, as far as Corfe Castle village in Purbeck. I have even spotted one by the church of St. Edward close to the square.

This painting was inspired by a memorable sighting by the sea at Winspit of a male Peregrine chasing a Raven from it's territory, rather than the reverse!
